Harry Mwailengo, Project Manager SoteHub Kenya– “It’s been amazing journey to see our business incubation growing steadily reaching out to young innovators in Taita Taveta county and beyond. On 8th July 2016, we will witness young innovators contesting for the seeding funding at the. This is a great milestone! Looking forward to support and work with successful young innovators and entrepreneurs”

David Ogiga, CEO Sote Hub Kenya- “The Sote Hub launching represents a different approach of taking business incubation to marginalized smaller towns in Kenya where you find the majority of unemployed youth deprived of many opportunities for self improvement. It however also underscores Kenya’s rise as a leader in the start-up community and the contributions of its community of innovators to tackling some of the most difficult social challenges. With the successful launch of Taita Taveta Incubator, Sote Hub has set their eyes in the other 46 counties and welcomes new partnerships and collaborations. It is also a time to thank our partners for last six years Slovak Aid and Pontis Foundation.”

Jakub Simek, Program Manager Pontis Foundation

“After six years of excellent cooperation with Kasigau Wildlife Trust in our joint educational programs of Sote ICT and Sote Hub, we are very excited to see first startups being founded by former graduates from Sote ICT clubs that we currently support at twelve secondary schools. Now we need to shift to another gear but also be balanced enough to invest in skills of existing students and graduates alike, to raise chances for success in both groups. The 460 students at those clubs can find inspiration to join Sote Hub if they see their older schoolmates to progress in their own business. They can then visit over holidays for workshops and boot camps, and hopefully start their own company or become employed by one of the growing startups.“
