Innovation Fair


Sote ICT hosted its second annual trade fair on 9th of July 2016. There were ten schools with addition of two new schools in attendance and over twenty practice companies.

The event was held at Coast Institute of Technology from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The competition was very intense as all the practice companies having a product to sell and better understanding of their business field.

The jury were: John Paul Community Manager at iHub, Milica Radovic, CEO ITKonnect, Serbia. The chief guest was Honorable John Mruttu, Governor Taita Taveta County.

The practice companies showcased what they have been working hard on and some even managed to make sales. In the evening everybody met at the conference hall for award giving. Two startups from Sote HUB, Recycle Afrika and Rogim Designs made a presentation about their startup.

Speaking when he attended the trade fair, Governor Eng. John Mruttu appreciated the fair and the products marketed the students saying it helps to shape the lives of the students.

“It is encouraging to note that there is progression in the virtual companies created our students. I urge you to pick up the business skills offered through this initiative as the knowledge you acquire at this tender age will be instrumental in your lives as entrepreneurs,” said Governor Mruttu.

The two new schools did exceptionally well seeing that they are only one year old in the project.

Best Business Overall: 1. Empire 2. Mchombololo 3. Rainbow printing.

Best Marketing: 1 Marvelous Arts Association 2. Matomoko 3. Peak stars Tours

Best Business canvas: 1. Mchombololo

Marvelous Art association and Classic Video 3. Greenlight and Tsavo Eco villa
Best PowerPoint Presentation:

Rukassy Wildlife and Tours Company from Kasigau Girls 2. Peak stars from Murray 3. Green Bird from Marungu Secondary.
